Preparation Tips

Train Your Body: Rafting’s a beast on your arms, shoulders, and core. Hit the gym 2–3 months out—rowing machine, burpees, or pull-ups build the right muscles. Swimming’s great too; you might end up in the drink.

Gear Up: Pack quick-dry clothes (rashie, board shorts), river shoes with grip (no sandals), and a waterproof jacket for spray. We provide helmets and life jackets, but bring a 10L dry bag, SPF 50+, and bug spray (Amazon’s buggy). A towel and change of clothes for post-raft chills are smart.

Team Mindset: Rafting’s a group effort. Practice listening and reacting fast—guides’ commands are law. If you’ve got a crew, do team-building stuff like escape rooms to get that vibe going.

Eco-Consciousness: Rivers are delicate. Use biodegradable soap, pack out all trash, and don’t touch fish or plants. Guides show you how to minimize impact, so follow their lead.

Safety Prep: Learn to swim if you can’t already—strong swimmers recover faster from flips. Study basic river terms (eddy, hole, strainer) online; it’ll make briefings click. Pack a first-aid kit with bandages, anti-itch cream, and painkillers.

Cultural Respect: In Brazil or Peru, river communities might share their shore. Ask before snapping pics, don’t litter, and learn “obrigado” or “gracias” to show thanks.

Safety Tips for Rafting

Listen to Guides: They’re your lifeline. Follow paddle commands instantly—“forward hard!” means go, no hesitation. If they say “get down,” crouch fast.

Know the Drill: If you fall out, float feet-up, face-up, and aim for the raft or shore. Don’t stand in moving water—rocks can trap you. Guides practice rescues, so trust them.

Weather Check: Rain can spike river levels, making rapids gnarlier. Guides monitor conditions and won’t run if it’s too dicey. Pack for wet, even on sunny days.

Stay Together: Don’t paddle ahead or lag—rafts work best as a pack. If separated, signal with a paddle wave and raft up quick.

Wildlife Smarts: Keep 50m from animals like caimans or otters. Don’t toss food—it messes with their diet. Store gear tight to avoid curious critters.

White-water rafting’s a wild, soaking blast—part strategy, part chaos, all unforgettable. Our trips give you the skills, the crew, and the rapids to feel like a river god. Let’s paddle into the roar!
